New release - RULE
The world can be a place of bad news: COVID 19, conflicts between countries, social injustice, corruption, exploitation, crime, the list goes on each time we open a news app.
Christians wait eagerly for the Lord Jesus’ return:
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 3:11-14
Even as we wait, there is also a malediction on those who do not care for the Lord Jesus:
21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.
22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord (Marana tha) 1 Corinthians 16:21-22
Only with the return of the Lord Jesus, we will have true restoration and peace.
However, with the Lord’s return it also signals that amnesty is over and judgment has come.
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3-9
Christians struggle between wanting the Lord to return and yet hoping that He gives time for those who are not saved to come to salvation. Even so maranatha! And this song reminds believers of His coming and the hope that people will come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ before that.
